About Fill PDF Form

Fill PDF Form lets you complete the fields of a fillable PDF in your browser, without a desktop PDF editor. It reads the standard AcroForm fields of the document and lists them: text fields, date fields with a date picker that follows the format the form defines, checkboxes, radio buttons, dropdowns and list boxes. The page preview highlights the field you are editing, and clicking a field on the page jumps to it in the list.

When you're done, download the filled PDF as an editable form, or flatten it so the answers become regular page content that can't be changed and looks the same in every viewer. Your answers can be exported as JSON, CSV or FDF and imported again later, which saves typing when you fill the same form for several people or every month. Fields containing characters the built-in PDF font can't draw are pointed out before saving.

This PDF form filler is useful for tax and government forms, job and school applications, insurance claims, registration forms and internal company templates. Signature fields are not filled here; use Sign PDF to place a signature on the page. The form is filled on your device, so personal details aren't uploaded.

Frequently asked questions

My PDF has no fields. How can I fill it?

Some forms are just printed pages without interactive fields. Use Sign PDF to place text, a date or your signature anywhere on the page instead.

What does flattening do?

It turns the fields into regular page content. The answers look the same but can no longer be edited, and every viewer shows them identically.

Can I fill the same form many times?

Yes. Export your answers as JSON or CSV, change what differs and import the file into the empty form. CSV files can list one field per row or use the field names as column headers.

Why can't I type some characters?

Form fields use a built-in PDF font that covers Latin characters. Letters such as Cyrillic, Greek or Chinese can't be drawn with it, so the tool points out affected fields before saving.

Does it work with XFA forms?

No. XFA (dynamic) forms made with Adobe LiveCycle need Adobe Reader. Standard AcroForm fields, which most PDF forms use, are supported.
