How is the volume calculated?
From the closed triangle mesh itself, so it is exact for watertight models. If the mesh has holes the viewer shows where and the volume is an estimate.
What does watertight mean?
Every edge is shared by exactly two triangles, so the model has a clear inside and outside. Slicers need this to print a model reliably.
