About Audio Speed & Pitch Changer

Audio Speed & Pitch Changer lets you change the speed and the pitch of audio independently. Speed runs from 0.25× to 4×, and the pitch can be shifted up or down by up to 12 semitones, with fine tuning in cents. With Keep original pitch on, the audio is time-stretched so voices sound natural at any tempo; with it off, speed and pitch move together like a tape or a record.

Presets cover common needs: 0.5× to 2× for speech, Nightcore and Slowed for music, and Chipmunk and Deep voice effects. The time-stretch can be optimized for speech, music or a balance of both. To match a tempo, enter the song's BPM and a target BPM and the speed is set for you. You can switch between the original and the changed audio before exporting as MP3, M4A, OGG, WAV or FLAC.

People use this tempo changer and pitch shifter to slow down audio for transcription or for learning an instrument part, to speed up lectures and podcasts, to transpose a song into a key that suits their voice, or to make sped-up and slowed edits. The processing happens on your device, so files don't need to be uploaded.

Frequently asked questions

Can I change the speed without the chipmunk effect?

Yes. With Keep original pitch on, the audio is time-stretched: it plays faster or slower but voices keep their natural pitch.

How do I change the key of a song?

Leave the speed at 1× and move the pitch slider. Each step is a semitone; 12 is a full octave. Use fine tune for songs that are slightly off standard tuning.

What are Nightcore and Slowed?

Nightcore plays a song faster and higher, like speeding up a record. Slowed does the opposite. Both change speed and pitch together, which is what Keep original pitch off does.

How do I change a song to a specific BPM?

You need to know the song's current tempo, because the tool doesn't detect it. Enter it as Song BPM and the tempo you want as Target BPM; the speed is set to the ratio of the two, so 120 to 132 BPM gives 1.1×.
