About Ringtone Maker

Ringtone Maker turns part of a song into a ringtone for iPhone or Android. When a song loads, the loudest stretch is selected automatically, which is often the chorus or the most recognizable part. You can move the selection on the waveform, type an exact start time, set the length and add a fade in and fade out of up to five seconds each.

For iPhone the ringtone is saved as an M4R file, the AAC-based format iPhones use for ringtones, with a length of up to 40 seconds. For Android you get an MP3 or OGG file of up to 60 seconds. An optional Make it loud setting raises the volume so the ringtone is easier to hear in a noisy place. After the export, the tool shows the steps to copy the file to your phone and select it in the sound settings.

This is useful when you want to make a ringtone from a song you own, a voice message, a recording of your kids or a sound effect, or simply convert an MP3 to M4R for an iPhone. The audio is cut and encoded in your browser, and the ringtone is saved straight to your device.
