About Dot Grid Paper Generator

The Dot Grid Paper Generator creates printable dotted pages for bullet journals, sketching and note-taking. Start from a preset such as the classic 5 mm bullet journal grid, 1/4 inch, 1/5 inch, a fine 3 mm grid or a 10 mm sketch grid, or set your own dot spacing from 2 to 30 mm. Dot size and color are adjustable, so the dots can be bold guides or barely visible.

Switch from a square pattern to an isometric dot grid for 3D sketches and patterns, or mark every n-th dot with a bigger dot in its own size and color to help with counting and layouts. The grid can be centered so that only whole cells fit inside the margins, and a rounded border can frame the page. Title, name and date lines and page numbers are optional, and the PDF can hold up to 50 pages in A4, Letter, A5, A3, Legal or a custom paper size.

Bullet journal fans use the dot grid printable to refill binders or try a spacing before buying a notebook, while designers and teachers use dotted paper for wireframes, lettering practice and handouts.

Frequently asked questions

What dot spacing do bullet journals use?

Most dotted notebooks use 5 mm between dots. For letter-size paper, 1/5 inch (5.08 mm) is a close match.

Can I make the dots lighter so they don't distract?

Yes. Choose a lighter gray and a dot size around 0.3 to 0.5 mm. The dots stay visible as a guide but disappear behind your writing.

What is isometric dot paper?

Isometric dot paper places the dots in a triangular pattern instead of a square one, so neighboring dots are equally far apart in three directions at 60° to each other. Connecting them gives cubes and other 3D shapes without having to draw in perspective.

Why use dot grid paper instead of lined or graph paper?

The dots give enough structure to write straight, draw boxes and align columns, but stay in the background much more than full lines. That makes dot grid pages flexible for mixing text, tables, sketches and diagrams on one page.
