  3. 3Choose font and alignment, print a test page on plain paper, shift the text if needed and download the PDF.

About Label Template Generator

The Label Template Generator prints text on ready-made label sheets. It includes common Avery A4 sheets such as L7160, L7159, L7163 and L7651, Avery Zweckform and Herma edge-to-edge sheets, and US Letter layouts such as Avery 5160, 5163 and 5167. For any other sheet you can enter the page size, number of columns and rows, label size, margins, pitch and corner radius, including round or oval labels.

Labels can all carry the same text, be filled from a list of addresses, from custom lines, or from a table that you paste from a spreadsheet or import as a CSV file. A template with column names in braces turns every row into one label and leaves out empty lines. You can print several copies of each label, start on a partly used sheet, and set font, size, bold first line, alignment, line height, padding and color, with shrink to fit for long entries.

For printing, the label template PDF has calibration sliders that shift everything by tenths of a millimeter and an outline mode for a test print on plain paper. Small businesses use it for mailing labels and shipping labels, families for holiday card address labels, and offices for folder, jar and storage labels.

Frequently asked questions

My labels don't line up. What can I do?

Print at 100 % (“Actual size”), not “Fit to page”. If the text is still off, print one sheet on plain paper, hold it against a label sheet in front of a light and use the calibration sliders to shift everything by the difference.

Can I use a sheet that is partly used?

Yes. Set “Start at label” to the first free label and the tool skips the used ones on the first sheet.

How do I print address labels from a spreadsheet?

Save the sheet as CSV, load it here and write a template such as {Name}, {Street} and {City} on separate lines. Each row becomes one label, and empty fields don't leave blank lines.

Do the templates work with other brands?

Yes, if the sheet has the same label size and layout. Many store brands are sold as compatible with Avery numbers. For anything else, enter the measurements under Custom layout.

What size is an Avery 5160 label?

Avery 5160 labels measure 2 5/8 × 1 inch, with 30 labels in three columns on a US Letter sheet. The A4 counterpart for address labels, Avery L7160, has 21 labels of 63.5 × 38.1 mm.
