About Schema Markup Generator
The Schema Markup Generator creates JSON-LD structured data from a form, so you don't have to remember schema.org property names. It covers eleven types: Article, Product, FAQ, How-to, Local business, Organization, Person, Event, Recipe, Breadcrumbs and Website. Each form marks required and recommended properties, and repeating data such as images, steps, ingredients, opening hours or reviews is added row by row.
As you fill in the fields, the checks point out missing required properties and values in the wrong format, such as a country that isn't a two-letter ISO code or a GTIN with the wrong number of digits. The finished code can be copied with or without the surrounding script tag, pretty-printed or minified. Paste it into the page's HTML, then confirm it with Google's Rich Results Test.
This JSON-LD generator helps shop owners who want product prices and ratings in search results, local businesses describing their address and opening hours, bloggers marking up articles and recipes, and developers who need a correct structured data template to build on. The markup makes a page eligible for rich results; Google still decides when to show them.
Frequently asked questions
What is JSON-LD?
A way to describe a page's content for search engines in a <script type="application/ld+json"> block, using the schema.org vocabulary. Google recommends it over microdata because it sits apart from your HTML.
Does schema markup improve rankings?
Not directly. It makes pages eligible for rich results such as review stars, prices, event dates and recipe cards, which usually earn more clicks.
Where do I put the JSON-LD code?
Anywhere in the HTML, usually in the <head>. Content management systems often have a field for custom head code, or you can add it with a tag manager.
Why doesn't Google show my rich result?
Valid markup makes a page eligible, but Google decides when to show rich results. The marked-up content must also be visible on the page, and some types such as FAQ and How-to are now shown only rarely.
Can a page have more than one schema type?
Yes. A recipe page can carry Recipe, BreadcrumbList and Organization markup at the same time, either as separate JSON-LD script blocks or combined in one @graph array. Each item should describe content that is actually on the page.
