About Tournament Bracket
The Tournament Bracket maker builds single elimination, double elimination and round robin tournaments for up to 64 participants. Enter the names in seed order, with the strongest at the top, or shuffle them for a random draw. Seeded pairing matches seed 1 against the lowest seed in the first round, while list order pairs neighbors one against two. When the field is not a power of two, byes are handed out automatically.
Click a winner to move them into the next round; in double elimination, losers drop into the losers bracket, and a reset final is added if the losers bracket champion wins the grand final. Round robin events get a standings table with three points for a win and one for a draw. The finished bracket can be downloaded as a PNG image, an SVG vector file or a PDF in A4, US Letter or A3.
This bracket generator suits office tournaments, esports and video game nights, school sports days, chess and table tennis clubs, cornhole and beer pong parties, and even fun brackets that rank movies or snacks.
Frequently asked questions
How are byes handled?
When the number of participants is not a power of two, some players get a bye in the first round and move on automatically: the top seeds with seeded pairing, the last entrants in list order.
How does double elimination work?
Losing once drops a player into the losers bracket; losing twice knocks them out. The winners and losers bracket champions meet in the grand final, with a reset final if the losers bracket champion wins the first one.
How are round robin standings scored?
Three points for a win and one for a draw. Ties are broken by wins and then by fewer losses.
How many matches does a tournament need?
A single elimination bracket needs one match fewer than the number of players, since every match knocks out one: 16 players play 15 matches. A round robin needs n × (n − 1) ÷ 2 matches, so 8 players play 28.
What does seeding mean in a bracket?
Seeds rank the participants so the strongest don't meet in early rounds. With seeded pairing, seed 1 plays the lowest seed and seeds 1 and 2 can only meet in the final.
